The mission of the Bureau of Environmental Disease Prevention is to prevent environmental disease in homes, communities, and the workplace, and to protect health by promoting healthy environments and health equity. The Bureau is comprised of four programs Healthy Homes (HHP), Environmental Exposure Assessment and Education (EEAE), Poison Control Center (PCC), and the Office of Environmental Investigations (OEI). The position with report to the Deputy Director of MIS within the Healthy Homes Program and will help us maintain the connectivity with the immunization program, birth certificates and other agencies to provide a comprehensive way of preventing and treating lead poisoning.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Create application programing interfaces (APIs) using web technologies to integrate with agency applications and shared services
- Create database stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers application in MS SQL e relational databases
- Utilize secured software methodologies to develop and maintain software security compliance and prepare project plans detailing the necessary tasks and schedules
- Provide the status of assigned projects on written reports or at meetings and develop technical reports for users that provide an overview description of the proposed computer system.
Preferred Skills
Candidates should have an advanced degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Management Science, Economics, Public Policy or a related field with a strong foundation in research methods and statistical analysis.
They must be capable of providing expert judgment in applying analytics and be well-versed in industry, best practices, current literature, and advanced analytics in the context of Operations Research.
Proven proficiency in SQL, Python, or .NET programming.
Hands-on experience with statistical, simulation, and optimization tools.
Strong logical reasoning and a solid understanding of data requirements for front-line usage.
Experience implementing high-level quantitative research and mathematical modeling initiatives.
Candidates should be exceptional communicators and a collaborative team player who demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and thrive in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
They excel at clearly articulating analytical findings and offering practical, data-driven solutions.
Additionally, candidates should possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Strong knowledge of User Interface design and a strong understanding of Databases (MongoDB and MS SQL).
Experience in C#, .NET 4.0/4.5, MVC, ADO.net, Web Services/Web APIs, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, Microsoft SQL 2012/2016, WPF, MVVM, and XAML, and PHP/ASP/CSS/ Python, .Net/.Net core, .Net(4.5, 4.7, 4.8), .Net Core(1.x,2.x,3.x) frameworks, Single Page Applications (SPAs), Telerik UI, Node Js, React JS, MS Azure webjobs, logic apps, Blob storage client library v12/v11 for .NET Frameworks, and Microsoft identity platform for Authentication and Authorization.
Design skills including the ability to mock-up, present, and implement user-friendly interfaces.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple projects, respond well to shifting priorities, work well under pressure.
Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in dealing with confidential and sensitive situations.
