About the Role
The Office of Safe Neighborhoods is seeking a full-time Data Analyst to oversee efforts to improve the use of criminal justice, human services, and other administrative data. This role focuses on transforming data into routine reports, dashboards, and geospatial analytics to support criminal justice planning and operations for its Incarcerated Community Crisis Intervention Program (ICCIP).
Key Responsibilities
- →Carry out aspects of research and data analysis projects under supervision
- →Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata
- →Develop project requirements and coordinate with subject matter experts
- →Process confidential information in accordance with regulations
- →Provide technical assistance to department and partner agency staff
- →Perform statistical analyses for projects and reports
- →Develop graphs, detailed statistical reports, and presentations
- →Update and maintain procedures for replicating analytic products
- →Develop project management plans and monitor milestones
- →Advise on data collection and performance measurement activities
- →Support implementation through database development and reporting frameworks
- →Serve as a liaison with academic partners on formal evaluations
- →Facilitate improved data sharing between partners
- →Apply a racial equity lens to data analysis projects
Requirements
- ✓Strong quantitative skills with statistical programs
- ✓Experience working with large datasets and relational databases
- ✓Knowledge of Philadelphia neighborhoods, particularly Pinpoint areas
- ✓Experience with criminal justice system data
- ✓Project management experience
- ✓Data management and technical analysis skills
- ✓Business writing and documentation abilities
- ✓Visualization of summary data
- ✓Communication and interpersonal skills
- ✓Experience with technical assistance and applied research
- ✓Strong writing skills to translate data for non-technical audiences
- ✓Commitment to using data to reduce racial, ethnic, and economic disparities
- ✓Track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments
