About the Role
We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our team at Cloudflare. This role involves collaborating with clients from early-stage ideation through to planning for production, focusing on networking, cybersecurity, and edge computing.
Key Responsibilities
- →Collaborate with clients from early-stage ideation through to planning for production
- →Contribute energy, ideas, and opinions on solving industry problems
- →Offer good practice guidance and adopt a deploy-to-production mindset
- →Work alongside peers with deep subject-matter expertise
- →Contribute to a body-of-knowledge across key domains
- →Support clients in local and central government, as well as private sector clients
- →Manage technical validation projects to help customers make informed decisions
- →Travel to customer offices, conferences, and events (15-30 days per quarter)
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience in the IT industry
- ✓Ability to manage projects, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing demands
- ✓Demonstrated empathy with customers and quickly identifying challenges and pain points
- ✓Understanding of how the internet works, including TCP, UDP, DNS, TLS, HTTP
- ✓Knowledge of the competitive landscape for DDoS, CDN, Performance, DNS, Developer platform, or Zero-Trust/SASE service providers
- ✓Previous experience in a pre-sales SE or consulting role (bonus)
- ✓Demonstrated experience with a scripting language (Python, JavaScript, Bash)
- ✓Exposure to emerging technical landscape trends (machine learning, GenAI, DevOps, security operations)
- ✓Security Clearance (SC) status (beneficial but not mandatory)
