The Senior Manager, Compliance (Strategic Execution Lead) is a compliance subject matter expert who will manage complex, fast-moving priorities such as new product launches, acquisitions, and geographic expansions. The successful candidate will provide expert compliance advice for strategic projects by identifying potential risks and proposing risk mitigants that enable sustainable growth. What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): • Support M&A pre-deal due diligence by assessing the compliance policies, controls, and staff of potential M&A targets, identifying compliance gaps, and drafting proposed remediation plans. • Support acquisition integration by implementing compliance remediation plans, including updates to policies, procedures, training, and controls. • Support new market entry by assessing regulatory requirements, drafting compliance policies and governance programs, and engaging with regulators and bank partners to successfully obtain licenses and bank accounts. • Support new product launches by conducting compliance risk assessments and proposing incremental controls, liaising with MLROs to identify potential local regulatory requirements, and engaging with regulators or bank partners to explain how Coinbase has properly mitigated any incremental risk related to the new product. What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): • Broad compliance expertise, including AML & sanctions advisory, enhanced due diligence, international regulatory compliance, etc. • Experience assessing risks, identifying compliance gaps, and designing control enhancements to enable business growth. • Excited to lead multiple time-sensitive projects with a sense of urgency and focus. • Ability to foster and maintain effective working groups with key stakeholders, including corporate development, partnerships, and legal teams. Nice to haves: • Knowledge of institutional adoption and use cases of digital assets and the regulatory frameworks for trading, derivatives, etc. • Knowledge of the digital payments ecosystem and the role of stablecoins in payments. • Experience working across multiple international regulatory regimes, including the UK, EU, Singapore, etc. P73048 #LI-Remote Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below.
