General Summary
The UX Designer is an individual contributor responsible for delivering quality design work for features and projects while developing design expertise and impact. This role handles standard design projects independently, collaborates with product and engineering teams, and contributes to team design quality. The UX Designer works with guidance on complex problems, learns from senior team members, and grows capabilities across design disciplines. This role requires solid design skills, effective collaboration, and the ability to balance user needs with project constraints.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
โข Delivers quality design work for features and projects with appropriate guidance
โข Handles standard design projects independently from concept through implementation
โข Creates interaction designs, information architectures, and visual designs aligned with product goals
โข Collaborates with product managers and engineers throughout the design and development process
โข Conducts user research with guidance and applies insights to design decisions
โข Uses design system components correctly and maintains design consistency
โข Creates wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate design intent
โข Conducts usability testing and iterates designs based on feedback
โข Participates in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
โข Represents user needs in project planning and feature discussions
โข Presents design work clearly to the team and stakeholders
โข Stays current with design patterns, tools, and best practices
โข Documents design decisions and rationale appropriately
โข Responds to feedback constructively and incorporates it into designs
โข Contributes ideas to improve team processes and practices
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required
โข Solid competency across UX design disciplines, including ideation, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and validation with the ability to handle standard projects independently
โข Developing strategic thinking with an understanding of how design work connects to product goals
โข Understanding of user needs and project constraints with the ability to create designs that balance both
โข Experience using design systems and creating consistent designs following established patterns
โข Capability in conducting basic research, reviewing data, and applying insights to design decisions
โข Ability to collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams on project execution
โข Clear communication skills with the ability to present work and explain design decisions
โข Openness to feedback and mentorship from senior designers
โข Competent use of design tools with organized workflows
โข Ability to work independently on standard projects with guidance on complex problems
โข Demonstrated commitment to quality and user-centered design
โข Good collaboration skills, adaptability, and willingness to learn
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations
โข Bachelorโs degree in Design, HCI, or related field
โข 3+ years of experience in UX design with a portfolio demonstrating solid skills
โข Demonstrated competency in core design disciplines
โข Experience delivering design work through the full project lifecycle
โข Track record of effective collaboration with product and engineering teams
โข Familiarity with design systems and modern design tools
โข Understanding of user research methods and usability testing
Working Conditions
โข Hybrid / Office, depending on location, with regular presence for team collaboration
โข Minimal travel, occasional team meetings
โข Mid-level IC position requiring good judgment and effective collaboration
