At Coram AI, weβre reimagining video security for the modern world. Our cloud-native platform uses computer vision and AI to help businesses stay safe, make smarter decisions, and move faster; from real-time alerts to seamless clip sharing and multi-site visibility.
Youβll be joining a small, fast-moving team that values clarity, craftsmanship, and impact. Every person here has a voice, ships meaningful work, and helps shape how AI can make the world safer and more connected.
We are looking for a technically strong Engineering Manager to lead our Platform team. This team builds the core real-time infrastructure that powers distributed edge systems running under strict latency, memory, and reliability constraints.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will manage deeply technical engineers working on low-level systems, high-performance networking, concurrency, and edge compute. You do not need to be a robotics expert. You do need strong experience with real-time or low-latency systems and the ability to go deep when required.
What Youβll Do
β’ Define the technical roadmap for the Platform team in partnership with product and leadership
β’ Lead architecture design for distributed edge systems operating under tight latency and memory constraints
β’ Manage and prioritize multiple parallel projects while handling production issues and shifting customer needs
β’ Conduct detailed design and code reviews to ensure high system reliability and performance
β’ Dive into C++ or low-level system code when necessary to unblock critical issues
β’ Oversee development of IPC, messaging, and real-time data pipelines
β’ Build strong engineering processes around observability, testing, and production stability
β’ Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performance team of systems engineers
β’ Foster a culture of ownership, technical rigor, and execution discipline
What Weβre Looking For
β’ Several years of experience managing engineers working on complex systems
β’ Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and networking
β’ Background as a strong individual contributor earlier in your career
β’ Deep experience building or leading real-time or low-latency distributed systems
β’ Comfortable reading and writing production C++ code; ability to go low-level when required
β’ Experience working close to firmware or embedded systems is highly valued
β’ Rust experience is a strong plus
β’ Strong architectural judgment and the ability to review complex system designs
β’ Proven ability to balance delivery speed with long-term system quality
Bonus Points
β’ Experience with real-time Linux or kernel-level tuning
β’ Experience designing pub/sub or distributed messaging systems
β’ Experience building systems for constrained edge hardware
β’ Experience working on GPU-enabled edge platforms
