Role Overview
Coupang’s Fulfillment Technologies team plays a critical role in enabling fast, accurate, and scalable fulfillment operations across our global network of fulfillment centers. As a Tech Lead within Global Ops Tech, you will drive the design and delivery of mission‑critical systems that power receiving, shelving, inventory, picking, and shipping processes. You will act as a technical leader and trusted partner to the business, championing engineering excellence, innovation, and operational efficiency while helping Coupang customers ask, “How did I ever live without Coupang?”
What You Will Do
• Serve as a technical leader across the full software development lifecycle within the Global Ops Tech organization.
• Lead and influence architecture reviews for new platforms, services, and solutions across Coupang.
• Drive company-wide and cross‑organizational initiatives as a hands-on technical leader.
• Solve complex technical problems and act as a trusted advisor for engineering teams within Global Ops Tech and partner organizations.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, designers, and engineers to design, improve, and deliver high‑impact applications.
• Design and build scalable, high‑performance platforms and data pipelines that support near real‑time fulfillment operations.
• Apply cutting‑edge logistics technologies, automation, and data‑driven approaches to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
• Continuously improve engineering practices to meet and exceed industry standards for quality, scalability, and delivery timelines.
• Share best practices and drive process improvements across agile teams to increase engineering productivity and technical depth.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of hands-on experience working within software engineering teams in fast-paced environments
• 10+ years of experience designing and developing complex, large-scale systems
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework
• Extensive experience building and operating systems in AWS environments
• Ability to solve complex technical problems through structured thinking and cross-team collaboration
• Ability to lead and influence stakeholders through clear technical communication
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience designing and building scalable, high-performance platforms and data pipelines
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with big data and streaming technologies such as Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, Flink, Hive, S3, and Redshift
• Experience building large-scale data streaming and near real-time processing systems
• Proven experience defining technical vision, architecture, and roadmap in collaboration with multiple teams
• Experience working closely with product and program management organizations
• Experience leading company-wide or highly cross-functional technical initiatives

Document Return Policy
• This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
• A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang (the “Company”), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. However, this will not apply where the hiring documents were submitted via the website of the Company or e-mail, or where the job applicant submitted those documents voluntarily without a request from the Company. In addition, if the hiring documents were destroyed due to a natural disaster or any other reasons not attributable to the Company, such documents will be deemed to have been returned to the job applicant.
• A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit It by email ([Upgrade to PRO to see contact]). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. • In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
• The above paragraphs 1 - 4 shall only apply when the labor-related laws of Korea govern the application. They are otherwise not applicable.
