About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Roku video player team at Crunchyroll. You will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of our Roku video player library, ensuring high-quality code and performance. This role involves collaborating with various teams to shape our technology roadmap and maintain Crunchyroll's position as a leading anime streaming service.

Key Responsibilities

→Contribute to the design and implementation of software solutions for Brightscript-based video player development
→Collaborate on technical solutions that improve existing features and enhance architectural quality
→Identify performance bottlenecks and areas of improvement in the codebase
→Maintain high coding standards and follow best practices in Brightscript development
→Participate in design and code reviews to ensure high-quality Roku product delivery
→Support a culture of operational excellence by focusing on efficient and maintainable engineering practices
→Stay updated on industry trends and Brightscript development technologies

Requirements

✓Passionate about Brightscript development and the streaming space with 8+ years of industry experience
✓Experience developing and maintaining consumer-facing Roku applications
✓Experience with Brightscript solutions serving millions of global users
✓Experience working closely with product and program management to support technology roadmaps
✓Ability to collaborate with senior engineers and team leads to drive development initiatives
✓Familiarity with multimedia frameworks and protocols like MPEG-DASH, HLS, and video streaming technologies
