About the Role
The Cloud Storage team at Crusoe is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to serve as a primary architect and visionary for our storage strategy. You will define the multi-year technical roadmap that underpins our AI-scale infrastructure and be responsible for the architectural strategy, integrity, and global scalability of our bespoke storage services.
Key Responsibilities
- →Define and drive the long-term technical strategy for Crusoe’s storage engine
- →Build foundations of our V2 storage re-architecture using C, C++, Go, or Rust
- →Architect and implement solutions using storage protocols like NFS, SMB, iSCSI, and NVMe/TCP
- →Drive and maintain contributions to open-source communities
- →Serve as the final arbiter for critical architecture decisions
- →Lead teams to solve difficult bottlenecks in the stack
- →Work with Executive Leadership and Product to align technical capabilities
Requirements
- ✓12+ years of experience building large-scale distributed cloud computing infrastructure
- ✓Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- ✓Deep knowledge of distributed state and data protection at petabyte scale
- ✓Mastery of software engineering practices for the full SDLC
- ✓Ability to lead initiatives across the engineering organization
