About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Back-End Engineer to serve as a technical North Star for our engineering organization. This role involves shaping architectural patterns, infrastructure standards, and engineering habits to scale our team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- →Define architectural direction and establish engineering patterns across teams
- →Design and evolve complex backend systems including multi-tenant database routing and distributed task orchestration
- →Lead adoption of AI-assisted development practices and LLM agent systems
- →Take ambiguous product goals and deliver them end-to-end from infrastructure to monitoring
- →Foster a culture of observability by default
- →Act as a technical leader during production incidents
- →Mentor engineers and promote psychological safety
- →Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
Requirements
- ✓10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- ✓Clear opinions on distributed systems and long-term architecture
- ✓Deep knowledge of Django internals and performance optimization
- ✓Strong experience building distributed systems across cloud infrastructure
- ✓Experience with dataframe-based computation tools like Pandas or Polars
- ✓Ability to define engineering standards and design reusable abstractions
- ✓Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering workflows
- ✓Effective communication skills to explain architectural trade-offs
