About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Agent Orchestration team at Decagon. This role involves owning the long-term architecture of Decagon’s agent platform and leading large, multi-quarter initiatives that shape the orchestration engine.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own the architecture and evolution of the core execution engine behind Decagon agents
- →Lead design for systems that coordinate complex reasoning and action flows at scale
- →Drive reliability, testing, and observability standards across the orchestration stack
- →Create frameworks that enable safe, fast iteration on agent behavior
- →Mentor senior engineers and help grow the technical culture of Agent Orchestration
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of engineering experience with a strong record of technical leadership
- ✓Proficiency in Python or Typescript and comfort with asynchronous programming
- ✓Expertise in distributed systems, concurrency, or large-scale real-time platforms
- ✓Ability to define long-term architecture and lead complex cross-functional projects
- ✓Strong instincts around system correctness, reliability, and debuggability
- ✓Experience mentoring other engineers and raising the technical bar
