About the Role
The Edge team within Foundations underpins the performance, reliability and security of our global systems. As an Edge Engineer, you'll work on critical traffic routing, content delivery networks, and network security patterns to ensure fast, resilient, and secure traffic paths.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and implement systems that handle production traffic reliably and at low latency
- →Work on traffic-critical initiatives like multi-region routing and intelligent failover
- →Design robust features with TDDs and design docs that communicate trade-offs
- →Participate in the full delivery lifecycle and partner with adjacent teams
- →Define SLOs, ensure high-signal monitoring, and maintain runbooks
- →Contribute to positive cultural practices through code reviews and interviews
Requirements
- ✓Experience with Edge technologies: CDNs, proxies, ALB/ELB, DNS, and VPC routing
- ✓Technical foundation in distributed systems and cloud networking
- ✓Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems
- ✓Familiarity with infrastructure tooling (Terraform) and languages like Go
- ✓Experience driving operational excellence with SLOs, on-call, and post-incident reviews
- ✓Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
