As the Privacy & Data Protection Manager, you will take a lead role in assessing data risks, managing incidents from initial triage through to resolution, and providing oversight to a junior team member. Your decisions and advice will help ensure Deloitte meets its privacy obligations, protects the information entrusted to us, and maintains the confidence of clients, regulators, and our people through clear, well‑reasoned guidance.
Your typical day will include:
• Owning BAU privacy and data risk activities such as confidentiality management plans, privacy input into contracts and technology use, and managing access and correction requests.
• Acting as incident lead for high‑risk data incidents, including risk assessment and classification, containment actions, evidence gathering, and escalation decisioning.
• Coaching and quality-assuring the handling of low‑risk incidents and reviewing other deliverables.
• Engaging directly with internal stakeholders on day‑to‑day privacy and data protection matters.
• Representing the Privacy & Data Protection function in working‑level forums and meetings as delegated.
• Translating privacy and data protection requirements into clear, practical business guidance.
• Helping develop fit‑for‑purpose playbooks, templates, and decision tools to reduce repeated questions and rework.
• Understanding that the role does not include being the privacy leader or policy owner, nor responsibility for firm‑wide strategy or regulator relationship ownership.
