About the Role

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Growth team at Descript. You’ll help users understand the value of our creative tools and find early success using them. This role focuses on creating user experiences that balance user needs with measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

→Drive design decisions and shape strategy on our growth team
→Take an experimental approach to solving user and business problems
→Use data to optimize user experiences for impact
→Balance speed with high-quality design and deep empathy for users
→Own your design process from concept through execution
→Bring clarity to broad and ambiguous problems through structured thinking
→Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including product management, engineers, and executives
→Advocate for design decisions and know when to disagree and commit
→Contribute to our design system and culture

Requirements

✓5+ years as a designer, with most experience in product design
✓Portfolio demonstrating ability to handle complexity and create data-informed user experiences
✓Data fluency and success with growth experiments
✓Exceptional interaction and visual design skills
✓Experience on fast-growing teams
✓Ability to work through ambiguity and create clarity quickly
✓Clear, direct communication skills
✓Self-direction and commitment to delivering on promises
✓Strong feedback and critique skills
✓AI literacy
✓At least 2 stand-out skills from: creation tool experience, design system work, accessibility, user research, Vibe coding, process improvement, UI animation, or AI/ML design
