APS4 Finance Officer 4-Month Labour Hire Contract Canberra BasedAbout the Client:Our client is a prominent cultural institution committed to preserving and sharing Australias documentary heritage. Their Corporate Branch plays a vital role in ensuring strategic financial governance and operational excellence. They are currently seeking an APS4 Finance Officer to support finance operations within a collaborative and purpose-driven team.About the Role:As an APS4 Finance Officer, you will contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. This role supports accounts payable and receivable functions, reconciliations, and month-end processes. Youll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial processing in line with Commonwealth frameworks.Key Responsibilities:Prepare monthly financial reconciliationsProcess accounts payable and receivable transactionsSupport payment runs and manage invoice processing mailboxesAssist with debt collection and reportingManage credit card acquittals and support month-end accrualsRespond to account queries and provide procedural adviceApply financial policies and procedures consistently and professionallySkills and Experience:Ability to apply financial legislation, policies, and proceduresExperience using accounting systemsStrong attention to detail and time managementEffective communication and stakeholder engagement skillsDesirable:Experience in financial operationsKnowledge of GST, FBT, and Commonwealth Financial FrameworksEssential Requirements:Australian CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a national police checkApplicants new to DFP may be asked to provide additional information including work rights status via a survey link - if requested, we ask that you provide this information in order to expedite your application.DFP welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and people with disability.
