About the Role
Dialpad is seeking an AI Engineer to join our Agentic Runtime team, responsible for building and maintaining customer-facing AI features at scale across our cloud-native products. You'll work on infrastructure that powers next-generation intelligent, autonomous experiences across voice, messaging, video, and digital engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- →Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of agentic runtime systems
- →Build and optimize core runtime components for task planning, action dispatching, and memory management
- →Work on agent coordination techniques including dynamic tool selection and parallel execution
- →Maintain highly scalable platforms with focus on low-latency and cost efficiency
- →Ensure high availability and fault tolerance in agent runtime services
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into infrastructure
- →Develop real-time distributed systems and microservices
- →Design sandboxed execution environments for safe agent operations
- →Implement monitoring and performance metrics
- →Evaluate and integrate emerging agentic frameworks
- →Write clean, modular, and well-tested code
- →Provide mentorship to junior engineers
Requirements
- ✓3–6 years of experience in distributed systems, platform engineering, or ML infrastructure
- ✓Strong understanding of agent architectures including ReAct and multi-agent coordination
- ✓Deep knowledge of context management, prompt lifecycle, and agent memory strategies
- ✓Experience integrating external tool ecosystems and managing APIs
- ✓Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation and LLM reliability challenges
- ✓Proficiency in Go and Python 3
- ✓Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices
- ✓Experience with API design using OpenAPI or equivalent
- ✓Knowledge of gRPC or equivalent RPC protocols
- ✓Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
- ✓Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools
- ✓Knowledge of CI/CD frameworks
