About the Role
We are looking for a strategic Technical Sourcer to support Discord's most complex engineering roles with passive candidate activation. This role involves partnering with engineering leadership to conduct market intelligence and execute sophisticated sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill technical positions.
Key Responsibilities
- →Partner strategically with hiring managers and technical leaders to understand role requirements and translate technical requirements into effective sourcing criteria
- →Conduct comprehensive total addressable market (TAM) research to size talent pools and identify hiring feasibility
- →Develop detailed job mapping strategies by analyzing competitor organizations and creating target account lists
- →Build and execute customized sourcing strategies using boolean search, x-ray techniques, and competitive intelligence
- →Identify and engage talent in their respective fields, partnering with recruiters and technical leaders
- →Craft personalized outreach campaigns to engage passive senior engineers and engineering managers
- →Own candidate experience from initial outreach through recruiter handoff
- →Represent Discord's engineering brand at technical conferences and industry events
- →Practice strong data hygiene across recruiting systems and maintain pipeline health metrics
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruitment, preferably in a high-growth tech company
- ✓Demonstrated success hiring senior, staff, and principal-level engineers in competitive markets
- ✓Strong technical aptitude with ability to understand complex engineering roles
- ✓Expert-level proficiency with boolean search techniques and advanced sourcing methods
- ✓Proficiency with modern sourcing tools including SeekOut Recruit, Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and applicant tracking systems
- ✓Expertise in market mapping and talent pool analysis
- ✓Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- ✓Strong pipeline management capabilities
- ✓Proven track record of sourcing candidates in cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, systems engineering, and feature development
- ✓Data-driven mindset with ability to track, analyze, and report on key sourcing metrics
