About the Role
We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at Vensure Employer Solutions. This role involves protecting the organization's computer systems and networks from cyber threats, identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and responding to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- βReview and validate detected cyber security incidents and risks to the enterprise
- βAssist in the stand up and tuning of web application firewalls
- βDetermine the operational impacts of cyber security control failures
- βDevelop, track, and present cyber security statistics and metrics for assigned area
- βRespond to security breaches and incidents, supporting less tenured cyber security personnel
- βCommunicate business impacts and recommend remediation steps to decision makers
- βDevelop and approve changes to cyber security procedures and systems
- βApply knowledge about the latest cyber security trends and threats to prevent risk realization
- βProvide input to enterprise resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity
Requirements
- βStrong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, applications, and security technology
- βExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to assess and mitigate risks
- βStrong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information
- βKeen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- βAbility to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with cross-functional groups
- βBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and skills
- βExperience as a cyber security engineer or system administrator
- βKnowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection
- βProfessional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or BSCP are highly desirable
- βExperience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- βExperience with web application security testing
- βKnowledge of regulatory requirements and standards (GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, ISO)
- βFamiliarity with software development practices and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)
- βExperience with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) as a tool administrator or engineer
- βExperience with vulnerability management/remediation at scale
