Our tech stack is hosted on GCP and is built on GKE, GCS, Cloud Run, MediaCDN utilizing a microservices-based architecture with Java, Node.js, Python, Redis, MySQL, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch. They are a data-driven team that also uses Python and big data technologies like Kafka, Spark, and Redshift for Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics. As a data-driven team, we also use Python and other big data technologies for Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics. Besides these, we heavily use Kafka, Spark, Redshift and other cutting edge tech to keep improving FanCode's performance.
You will be a core pillar of the Core Infra Engineering Team, responsible not just for maintaining the environment, but for architecting the next generation of FanCode’s platform. You will drive technical decisions that ensure high availability during peak sporting events, minimize latency, and democratize infrastructure for the wider engineering organization.You will act as a technical leader, spreading infrastructure knowledge, defining architectural standards, evangelizing best practices and bringing thought leadership in the team.
What you’ll do:
• Architect for Hyper-Scale: Own the reliability and scalability of the platform. Architect systems capable of handling massive traffic spikes during live matches with zero downtime.
• Advanced Orchestration & Automation: Go deep into Kubernetes internals. Design custom controllers, operators, or CRDs to automate complex stateful workloads on GKE.
• Drive "Platform as a Product": Lead the design and implementation of an Internal Developer Platform (IDP). Move beyond simple CI/CD scripts to building self-service capabilities that allow product teams to provision resources autonomously and securely.
• Cost Architecture (FinOps): Take ownership of the cloud budget. Proactively identify cost-optimization opportunities (Spot instances, Autoscaling efficiencies, Reserved capacity) without compromising performance.
• Security & Compliance: Implement policy-as-code (OPA/Kyverno) and automated compliance scanning within the delivery lifecycle.
• Mentoring: Supporting junior engineers regarding development, concepts, and best practices.
Must haves:
• 6+ years of experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer.
• Deep expertise in GCP with a track record of designing multi-region, highly-available and distributed architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure Automation Tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes Internals, Networking and Service Meshes
• Experience with DevSecOps and Cloud Security & AppSec tools.
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, Agentic AI Workflows in context of Platform Engineering
Good to have:
• Video Engineering context: Understanding of CDN, HLS, DASH, and video delivery workflows.
• Internal Developer Platform (IDP) tools: Experience with tools like Backstage, Crossplane, or similar tools.
• Experience implementing SRE practices (SLOs/SLIs, Post-mortems, Chaos Engineering).
• Experience with coding in either Java or Golang.
• Experience working on Multi Cloud Setup (AWS/Azure).
• Industry Leading Certifications such as CKA, GCP Cloud Architecture, CKAD, etc.
• Good understanding of Data Engineering Technologies.
• Good understanding on FinOps, AIOps, MLOps.
