About the Role
We are looking for a Senior ITS / Technology Design Engineer to join the Connect Plus Services (CPS) Joint Venture project. This role involves reviewing, leading, and managing ITS/Technology systems design for the M25, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to standards.
Key Responsibilities
- →Complete technology design for a range of ITS assets (CCTV, signals, VMS, ERT, MIDAS, etc) on time and to budget
- →Produce, check, and certify designs, documents, and reports from internal and external designers
- →Assist the wider Design Team in various Improvement and Renewal Schemes
- →Undertake optioneering and feasibility of design solutions and preparation of whole life costing
- →Develop and agree briefs with the design team and design suppliers
- →Prepare and submit instructions to design suppliers
- →Contribute to the Design Review Process (Certification) in accordance with the DBFO contract
- →Ensure all designs meet quality standards required by the DBFO contract and CPS internal standards
- →Liaise with National Highways on technical issues and submissions
- →Report to the project manager on performance against budget and programme
Requirements
- ✓Experience in ITS/Technology systems design
- ✓Strong understanding of design review processes and compliance
- ✓Ability to manage and coordinate between design, asset, and project management teams
- ✓Knowledge of legal requirements and technical standards
- ✓Experience with CCTV, signals, VMS, ERT, MIDAS, etc.
- ✓Ability to lead innovation and continual improvement in design and construction techniques
