About the Role
The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for ongoing projects involving the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and system software. This role also involves maintenance, debugging, and coordination of new hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide support for installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and system software
- →Perform maintenance and debugging of systems software
- →Coordinate IOGEN work for new mainframe hardware
- →Research and evaluate new software and hardware products
- →Assist team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution
- →Monitor and tune systems software
- →Provide technical architect storage support for hardware and software solutions
- →Participate in client meetings and new business deals
- →Work directly with hardware and software vendors on new solutions
- →Review and analyze current client software and requirements
- →Design automated monitoring techniques for problem identification and prevention
- →Provide and document problem analysis, resolution, and prevention
Requirements
- ✓Ten years of hands-on/industry experience
- ✓Ability to perform the skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer
- ✓Ability to perform complex ISV installations
- ✓Ability to perform and lead complex projects
- ✓Ability to mentor and show leadership qualities
