About the Role
Epic Games is seeking a Lead Combat Designer to oversee the development of combat systems and mechanics. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and leading a small design team to create engaging combat experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the vision, design, and implementation of core combat systems
- →Manage and mentor a small team of combat and systems designers
- →Collaborate with Programming, Art, Animation, Audio, UX, Narrative, and Production
- →Create and maintain clear design documentation
- →Prototype, iterate, and refine combat mechanics through playtesting
- →Identify and solve complex combat design problems
- →Communicate combat goals and progress to project leadership
Requirements
- ✓7+ years of professional game design experience with a focus on combat systems
- ✓3+ years of experience in a senior or lead design role
- ✓Experience shipping at least one game with combat design as a core pillar
- ✓Deep understanding of combat design fundamentals
- ✓Strong collaboration and communication skills
- ✓Experience working with Unreal Engine or similar game engines
