About the Role
Epic Games is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer, Safety Platform to develop and improve platforms that protect users and players globally. This role will have a direct impact on community health and the success of Epic products.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and own highly scalable backend services for safety and enforcement capabilities
- →Serve as code owner for multiple services and codebases
- →Partner with engineers, QA, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions
- →Drive operational excellence in reliability, observability, incident response, and continuous improvement
- →Participate in code reviews to raise engineering quality standards
- →Identify opportunities to simplify systems, reduce risk, and improve performance
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of professional software engineering experience building highly available services
- ✓Strong experience with distributed systems, APIs, and service deployments
- ✓Expert knowledge of Go (Golang) for backend services
- ✓Experience with modern DevOps toolchains (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD)
- ✓Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code (AWS preferred)
- ✓Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration track record
- ✓User-focused and pragmatic problem-solving approach
