About the Role
EVR is seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support the data team in the Elk Valley of British Columbia. This internship offers hands-on experience in data analytics within a mining operations context.
Key Responsibilities
- →Support data team members in gathering and documenting business requirements
- →Help analyze, profile, and map data to business and maintenance metrics
- →Assist in building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines
- →Translate business needs into clear functional requirements or user stories
- →Participate in discovery sessions and workshops
- →Contribute to documentation such as process flows and data definitions
- →Support user testing, training materials, and solution roll-out activities
Requirements
- ✓Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
- ✓Interest in business analysis, data analytics, and/or business intelligence
- ✓Some experience working with data using SQL, Excel, Python, R, or similar tools
- ✓Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- ✓Comfortable communicating ideas clearly in writing and conversation
- ✓Willingness to learn new tools, business concepts, and technical skills
- ✓Exposure to BI or data visualization tools like Power BI is an asset
- ✓Familiarity with databases, cloud platforms, or basic data modeling concepts is an asset
- ✓Awareness of Agile or Scrum concepts is an asset
- ✓Interest in industrial, maintenance, or operations-focused business environments is an asset
