Software Developer - Python at Fantom Corporation

We are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to design and implement cloud-based solutions that support mission-driven data collection and processing needs. This role focuses on developing and integrating applications within secure cloud environments while leveraging modern programming languages, cloud services, and containerized infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Python development, AWS cloud services, and building scalable solutions that integrate multiple cloud components to support mission-critical operations. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain Python utilities and web applications to support end users and system functionality • Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate system operations and workflows • Perform system administration tasks within Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar distributions • Use the Linux command line to troubleshoot, configure, and maintain systems • Manage and maintain source code using Git in a collaborative development environment • Implement automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible and Puppet • Support and integrate new features and capabilities into existing software baselines • Work within AWS cloud environments to support application deployment and infrastructure needs • Provide ongoing Linux administration support across systems and environments • Collaborate with development teams to deploy and maintain applications within enterprise Linux or Kubernetes platforms • Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning and iterative delivery • Create and maintain technical documentation using tools such as Confluence or MediaWiki Required Qualifications • Must be fully cleared with a recent polygraph • Must be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this posting • Strong experience developing and maintaining Python applications, including utilities and web-based solutions • Experience working in Linux environments, including command-line operations and system administration • Experience writing and maintaining Bash shell scripts • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar distributions • Experience using Git for version control • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible and Puppet • Experience working with AWS cloud services • Experience supporting Linux systems in production environments • Experience integrating new functionality into existing software systems • Experience working in Agile development environments • #CJ Desired Qualifications • Experience working with Kubernetes or enterprise container platforms • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services • Experience with security accreditation processes in secure environments • Experience supporting enterprise Linux platforms • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation using Confluence or MediaWiki Fantom Corp is a Software Development, Agile Cloud, Cyber Security (Risk Management, Assessments & Authorization (A&A)), Data, AI Platform (Computer Vision Models), Podcasting Media Services, and IT Services provider.
