About the Role

The Accounting Specialist will join Farfetch's Finance team, a strategic pillar of the organization responsible for managing capital, ensuring financial integrity, and optimizing resource allocation. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role will drive process and policy amendments for worldwide execution on financial standards.

Key Responsibilities

→Prepare bookings of assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses entries by compiling and analysing accounting information
→Monitor sub-ledgers verifying transactions and resolving discrepancies
→Analyse the reasonability of trial balances’ variances
→Analyse consolidated information for the group, including Balance Sheet and P&L Fluxes
→Provide support in the implementation of new IFRS standards
→Supervise work performed by more junior team members
→Comply with legal requirements
→Participate in meetings and ensure appropriate progress
→Introduce, organize and implement new accounting policies and procedures
→Offer support to colleagues in specific accounting operations
→Guarantee that controls are carried out, recorded and working efficiently
→Provide support on external audit

Requirements

✓Bachelor or master degree in accounting, management, economics or auditing
✓At least 5 years of functional experience in accounting, auditing or consolidation
✓Knowledge of IFRS
✓Previous experience in Consolidation from either preparer or auditor’s perspective
✓Strong drive for results with proactive problem resolution skills
✓Proficiency in conveying information efficiently across departments
✓Outstanding writing aptitude and capability to organize presentations
✓Fluent in English, both written and spoken
✓Excellent team player with ability to interact with different departments
✓Considerable knowledge of spreadsheet software
✓Basic computer systems knowledge, Microsoft AX and SAP BPC preferred
✓Demonstrated ability to perform accurate numeric calculations
✓Excellent communicator
✓Dynamic, with high sense of responsibility and autonomy
