About the Role
FieldAI is seeking passionate engineers to join our R&D team in Boston, developing humanoid robot software systems that integrate perception, planning, locomotion, and manipulation subsystems. You will work on transforming research-grade capabilities into production-quality systems for real-world deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop and maintain the core software framework for humanoid platforms
- →Define subsystem interfaces and communication patterns
- →Own system bring-up, sensor calibration, and validation workflows
- →Partner with research engineers to transition algorithms from prototype to production
- →Identify and close reliability gaps with fault handling and testing
- →Build tooling for automated diagnostics and post-run analysis
- →Coordinate integration milestones across teams
- →Profile and optimize performance on embedded platforms
- →Harden the stack against real-world failure modes
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
- ✓7+ years hands-on experience with robotics software and physical hardware
- ✓Strong C++ and Python proficiency with modern best practices
- ✓Experience with ROS/ROS2 in complex robotic systems
- ✓Understanding of real-time systems and embedded environments
- ✓Experience hardening research code into production-quality software
- ✓Strong problem-solving and communication skills
