About the Role
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Data Engineer to join our team at Filevine. This role involves integrating and ingesting data from diverse client sources into our platform, ensuring seamless data flows that power critical legal workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and build custom data ingestion pipelines to connect client data sources to Filevine.
- →Collaborate with clients to assess their data landscapes and implement secure, reliable ETL processes.
- →Handle a wide variety of data formats and sources with a focus on data quality, validation, and transformation.
- →Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards critical to the legal industry.
- →Troubleshoot and optimize data flows in production environments.
- →Provide technical guidance and training to clients on data integration best practices.
- →Document pipelines, mappings, and custom solutions while feeding client insights back to the product and engineering teams.
- →Perform onsite engagements as needed to accelerate integrations and drive adoption.
Requirements
- ✓Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ETL Developer, or in customer-facing integration roles.
- ✓Strong proficiency in building data pipelines using tools like Python, SQL, Apache Spark, Airflow, or similar.
- ✓Expertise in connecting to diverse data sources: relational databases, NoSQL, APIs, file-based systems, and cloud storage.
- ✓Experience with data transformation, cleansing, and handling unstructured or "messy" data.
- ✓Knowledge of data security best practices, especially in regulated industries.
- ✓Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to improvise solutions for non-standard data challenges.
- ✓Strong communication skills to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders.
- ✓Willingness and ability to travel extensively to client sites nationwide.
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
