Job Summary Formlabs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Lead to lead a team in a state-of-the-art digital additive manufacturing service operation. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of safety and quality, and delivering strategic business goals as we scale our production capabilities. The Operations Manager will oversee key aspects of production management, including production planning, personnel development, order management, and day-to-day operations. This position is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the dynamic and growing field of digital fabrication. Responsibilities: • Team Leadership: Lead an hourly labor pool and support functions, including oversight, resource planning, hiring, training, and skills development. Foster a positive and collaborative environment for our Team members that emphasizes safety, quality, and accountability. • Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of production/operational processes, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to schedules, and high-quality output across multiple digital manufacturing platforms. • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational metrics and prepare leadership reports to drive data-backed decision-making. • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions to minimize downtime. • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or 5S to optimize service delivery and material flow. • Facility Oversight: Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of facilities and specialized equipment to maintain a world-class production environment. Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior production or manufacturing leadership role. • Experience managing direct hourly employees in a high-throughput environment. • Expertise in manufacturing principles (5S, Lean, Safety, Quality Management). • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills. • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to mentor employees across all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field. • Proven ability to align and implement business strategies effectively across multiple departments. • Demonstrated success in driving cultural transformation and organizational change during periods of rapid scaling. • Familiarity with safety systems (OSHA PSM or equivalent). • Experience with advanced additive manufacturing technologies or digital fabrication tools.
