POSITION SUMMARY: Network Engineer
The Network Engineer will be responsible for providing operational planning and technical knowledge to design, implement, and support enterprise switching, routing, and SD-WAN infrastructure that aligns with the Company's business and IT objectives. This position will provide hands-on technical execution and will manage simple and enterprise-wide projects from initiation to completion across LAN/WAN environments, complex multi-site network architectures, and the manufacturing plant floor.
 
The Network Engineer will collaborate with leaders in other business units and operational areas to gather requirements and implement scalable, highly available, and resilient network infrastructure β including VLAN design, routing protocol optimization, network segmentation strategies, and firewall policy management β to meet present and future business needs. This role will also support and contribute to network automation initiatives, leveraging scripting and automation tools to streamline network operations, reduce manual effort, and improve overall reliability and consistency across the environment.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
β’ Installation, maintenance, and enhancements of global networks delivering secure and reliable data services across corporate, production, and guest networks
β’ Perimeter network security support including Fortinet FortiGate and Cisco ASA/FTD firewall administration and policy management
β’ Maintenance of private DHCP services and both public and private DNS services
β’ Ensure data integrity and security by implementing and managing network infrastructure hardware and software solutions in alignment with industry standards and best practices
β’ Assist with developing standards, policies, and configuration guidelines; document procedures for team review
β’ Conduct routine hardware and software audits of network infrastructure to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
β’ Perform upgrades to network infrastructure components including switches, routers, and SD-WAN appliances
β’ Develop implementation plans including communication strategies, validation steps, and back-out procedures
β’ Coordinate and implement low to high-risk network changes according to the ITIL framework across mission-critical functional areas
β’ Work with WAN and internet service providers to obtain new services and troubleshoot and maintain existing connectivity
β’ Collaborate with the IT group to support disaster recovery processes and procedures
β’ Support and contribute to network automation initiatives using scripting and automation tools to streamline operations
β’ Share knowledge and experience to support the technical development of other team members
β’ Assist in tracking and communicating key networking metrics to leadership
β’ Occasional work outside of normal business hours including incident escalation and off-hours maintenance
β’ Occasional travel to various FBIN locations 
 
Experience
β’ Experience with Arista, Fortinet, and Cisco switches and routers, including network design, architecture, and hands-on technical implementation
β’ Experience with SD-WAN, ELAN, port aggregation, load balancing, and failover technologies in enterprise environments
β’ Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise LAN/WAN environments including VLAN design, VXLAN overlay networking, network segmentation, and routing protocol configuration
β’ Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining Juniper and Cisco wireless networks
β’ Experience with Fortinet perimeter security including firewall policy management and VPN technologies; IPsec and SSL VPNs for internal and external connectivity
β’ Enterprise routing protocol experience including EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and spanning tree
β’ Experience with network monitoring and management tools including setup, configuration, ongoing maintenance, and reporting
β’ Familiarity with network automation and scripting tools to support operational efficiency
β’ Experience assisting with the development and enforcement of standards for hardware, software, and configuration management
β’ Experience with vendor management including hardware, software, and WAN/internet service providers

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
β’ 5-7 years as a Network Engineer with strong Fortinet, Arista, and Cisco router and switch design and management skills.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred; 2-year degree may be considered with appropriate experience 
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
β’ Minimum of an FCA/CCNA or equivalent; FCP/CCNP or higher preferred
