So if you love sports and their community-building potential, or building cool products is your sport, GameChanger is the team for you. We are a remote-first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and we are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today.
About the Role
You'll step into a highly strategic, proactive role where your insights directly shape company-level decisions. As a Staff Strategy Analyst, you'll report to our Director of Analytics and serve as the primary analytical thought partner to GameChanger's Strategy team and Office of the President, including our President and VP of Strategy.
This is not a reactive, inbound-driven role. You'll own the analytical agenda for the Strategy team: identifying what questions need answering, framing the right approach, and delivering executive-ready recommendations with minimal direction. You'll be expected to navigate ambiguity, manage up, and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders β including when a question requires foundational work before an answer is possible.
While technical fluency in SQL and modern data tools is essential, this role leads with business judgment and narrative, not methodology. Deep experience in SaaS or subscription businesses and a track record of building credibility with C-suite leaders are core requirements.
This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City headquarters, with a few days per week in-office required given the level of executive partnership involved.
What Youβll Do
- Own the analytical agenda for the Strategy team - proactively identify the questions that matter, not just respond to inbound requests.
- Lead delivery of strategic insights to the President, VP of Strategy, and other exec stakeholders - from ad hoc questions to QBRs and Monthly Initiative Reviews.
- Translate subscription, retention, acquisition, and engagement data into clear, compelling narratives that drive executive decisions.
- Scope incoming requests and determine the right analytical approach - including recognizing when deep modeling or infrastructure work is needed and routing it to the right Analytics team specialist.
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineers and Embedded Analysts to ensure strategy work is grounded in reliable, scalable data.
- Support alignment between GameChanger data and Dick's Sporting Goods reporting where relevant to strategic initiatives.
Who You Are
- 7β10+ years in analytics, data strategy, or business insights, with clear progression into strategic, executive-facing work.
- Proven track record advising senior executives - presenting to, pushing back on, and building credibility with C-suite stakeholders.
- Strong executive presence: a polished, confident communicator who can hold a room without over-preparing and is comfortable in unscripted conversations with senior leaders.
- Business strategy orientation first, technical depth second - you lead with judgment and narrative, not methodology.
- Deep fluency in SaaS and subscription metrics: funnel analysis, retention modeling, pricing, and lifetime value.
- Solid command of SQL (e.g., window functions, CTEs) and comfort with modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Looker, or similar).
- Experienced managing your own prioritization in fast-moving, ambiguous environments without relying on structured direction.
- Experience operating in a product-led, subscription or SaaS environment where youβve influenced decisions across acquisition, retention, and monetization
