About the Role
Gecko Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer to develop field and cloud software that powers robotic systems and empowers decision-making across the industrial base. This role involves collaborating with engineers of all disciplines and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experts to protect critical infrastructure and support national security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build cloud and field applications for use within the Military-Industrial Base
- →Create ontologies representing the digital thread of industrial assets
- →Architect robust interfaces between field and cloud software systems
- →Solve complex deployment problems as we ship software to edge devices around the US
- →Iterate quickly with today’s customers while building for the long run
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining production systems
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
- ✓Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar object-oriented languages
- ✓Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- ✓Experience designing APIs and interfaces between distributed systems
- ✓Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver complex technical projects end-to-end
- ✓Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams with varied technical backgrounds
- ✓Comfortable operating in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments with dynamic objectives
- ✓Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- ✓Willingness to travel periodically to other Gecko offices (including Pittsburgh, New York, and Boston) and to client sites as needed
