ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Director of FP&A is a strategic finance leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide financial planning, performance management, and decision support. This role partners closely with senior leadership to translate business strategy into financial outcomes, enabling disciplined capital allocation, operational execution, and long-term value creation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Finance & Executive Partnership
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to senior executives, providing actionable insights that link financial performance with strategic objectives
- Support executive decision-making by translating complex financial data into clear business recommendations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Corporate Strategy, Investor Relations, and business unit leaders
Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead the development of annual plans, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial models
- Own key financial frameworks including P&L management, KPI tracking, and variance analysis
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and financial visibility across the organization
Capital Allocation & Investment Analysis
- Develop financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and resource allocation
- Partner with leadership to prioritize investments aligned with growth and profitability goals
- Support long-term planning to ensure optimal balance between growth, profitability, and cash flow
Business Insights & Decision Support
- Provide data-driven insights on business performance, identifying risks and opportunities
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track operational and financial health
- Deliver clear, concise reporting and storytelling to influence business outcomes
M&A and Corporate Development Support
- Support financial due diligence, valuation, and synergy analysis for acquisitions and strategic partnerships
- Assist with integration planning and tracking of financial performance post-transaction
Board & Executive Reporting
- Prepare high-quality materials for executive leadership and Board meetings
- Synthesize financial and operational performance into compelling narratives and presentations
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of accountability and partnership
- Build scalable processes and tools to enhance efficiency and analytical capabilities
- Mentor team members and promote strong collaboration across global teams
ABOUT YOU:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
· 8–12+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience
· Experience in large, complex organizations, preferably publicly traded environments
· Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
· Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
· Experience supporting strategic initiatives such as capital allocation or M&A is a plus
· DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP OF HIGH-PERFORMING TEAMS

Location: NYC Office (Onsite 3 days per week)
The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $230,000 and $250,000. Base salary is one component of Gen's total compensation package, which includes 401(k) match, health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role.
