About the Role
We are looking for a frontend engineer to join General Medicine and help build a healthcare store that simplifies shopping for various types of care. This role involves creating a seamless consumer healthcare product on the web, focusing on the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build and scale a healthcare store for virtual and in-person visits, prescriptions, labs, and more
- →Own major surfaces of our Next.js application, from search and scheduling to provider profiles and checkout
- →Collaborate closely with design to nail interactions and micro-details
- →Make pragmatic frontend architecture decisions regarding component patterns, state management, data fetching strategies, performance optimization, and testing
- →Work across the stack when needed, interacting with a Rails backend
Requirements
- ✓3+ years of experience building production web applications with React
- ✓Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern React patterns
- ✓Experience with Next.js or a similar framework
- ✓A strong eye for UI quality
- ✓Experience with frontend performance optimization, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
- ✓Comfort working with RESTful APIs and understanding backend data models
- ✓Familiarity with modern backend frameworks is a plus
