Our Opportunity
GPJ is hiring a Senior Fabrication Project Manager to join our growing team.
This role is on-site, requiring you to report to our Detroit office location a minimum of 5 days per week.
Your Role
As the Senior Project Manager for Fabrication, your primary responsibility is to oversee and coordinate all activities related to our projects, ensuring the delivery of top-quality work while maximizing profit margins. Whether focusing solely on fabrication or overseeing all aspects of a project, you handle a range of additional responsibilities. This includes analyzing materials to ensure correct usage and timely delivery, collaborating with Project Managers and Estimators to establish budgets and timelines, driving projects forward and maintaining adherence to set timelines, and providing ongoing support for estimating projects. You also organize crucial project meetings to ensure alignment, work closely with shop management to determine crew size requirements, and collaborate with foremen to address specific project needs. Furthermore, you generate and submit weekly timesheets and occasionally travel to supervise operations at major shows. Additionally, you may assist with building maintenance to uphold the quality of our facilities.
Your Skills
β’ Knowledge of building and construction standards and terminology.
β’ Ability to read/understand engineering drawings and knowledge CAD/CAM manufacturing and fabrication.
β’ Understanding of Project Management methodology.
β’ Familiarity with interior and exterior building materials and fabrication techniques.
β’ Drive, Determination and Persistence in guiding numerous shop personnel on multiple projects simultaneously.
β’ Computer Skills; Fluent in Google Docs and Sheets (Word and Excel).
β’ Exceptional Time Management Skills

Your Experience
Experience & Education
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Business, Construction Management or a minimum of seven 7 years experience in construction or construction related fields.
Travel & Mobility
β’ Ability to travel 25%
β’ Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal business hours, to include nights, weekends and holidays as needed
