Job Description
We are seeking a People Operations Specialist to join the Govini People Team. In this capacity, you will report to the People Operations Director and also work closely with the People Operations Manager.
This role serves as the backbone of our administrative reliability, managing the data lifecycle and day-to-day support for the entire organization while providing "boots on the ground" HR support for our Pittsburgh location.
To succeed in this job, you must be a "systems thinker" who finds satisfaction in a perfectly maintained HRIS and a cleared-out support inbox. You will lead the company-wide pre-boarding process to ensure every new hire is warmly welcomed, supported, and accurately integrated into our systems from the start. In tandem with these companywide responsibilities, you will drive the local employee experience in Pittsburgh by executing culture-building logistics. As a visible representative of People Operations in our Pittsburgh office, you will model our "Govini Non-Negotiables" and ensure the office environment remains professional, productive, and appropriate for all team members. In all cases, your goal is 100% operational reliability.
This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Pittsburgh, PA.
This role may require up to 5% travel.
Scope of Responsibilities
Companywide Operations
β’ Data Integrity & Onboarding Excellence: Own the end-to-end data lifecycle for new hires; ensure "Day One" readiness by finalizing all forms and introductory materials while accurately keying all new hire information into our systems to maintain them as the single source of truth.
β’ Operational Reliability: Own the People Ops inbox, serving as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, employment verifications, and general support requests.
β’ Payroll & Data Continuity: Play a key role in every payroll cycle, assisting with data validation and processing to ensure 100% accuracy while serving as the primary backup for all payroll functions.
β’ Benefits Support: Provide benefits enrollment assistance for new hires, acting as a guide through Goviniβs benefit offerings and ensuring accurate system entry.
Pittsburgh Office Impact
β’ Events: Own the execution and logistics of employee-focused events for the Pittsburgh office, including culture, engagement, and community service events.
β’ Communications: Reinforce companywide messaging at the office level, offering reminders and support or escalation of needs related to initiatives such as Open Enrollment or Employee Surveys.
β’ Talent Acquisition: Support our PGH-based TA team.
β’ Facilities Backup: Assist the Facilities Manager on an as-needed basis, such as coordinating office-wide lunches during their PTO.
Qualifications
β’ U.S. Citizenship is required
β’ A Bachelorβs degree with 1 to 5 years of experience in People Operations, HR, or a high-volume administrative role
Required Skills:
β’ Exceptional Attention to Detail: A "measure twice, cut once" approach to data entry and document management
β’ Service-Oriented Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee issues with empathy and discretion
β’ Organizational Prowess: Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, from high-volume inbox management to event planning, without losing momentum
β’ Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for company-wide announcements and employee support
Desired Skills:
β’ Experience supporting payroll processing or benefits administration in a fast-paced environment
β’ Familiarity with Google Suite, Greenhouse, BambooHR, ADP WorkforceNow, and/or Employee Navigator
β’ Experience with event planning or office management in a high-growth tech setting
β’ Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
