About the Role
Harness is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead complex cross-platform initiatives and technical projects across geographies. This role involves steering the course for organizational segments, partnering with senior leadership, and prioritizing initiatives to achieve objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- →Coordinate and propose collaborative efforts across multiple engineering teams
- →Proactively prevent redundant efforts by hardening existing assets for broad reusability
- →Apply expertise in mentorship, championing a culture of improvement
- →Participate in resource planning, project mapping, and success criteria for large engineering initiatives
- →Respond swiftly to current needs while planning for future requirements
- →Solve the most difficult technical problems at Harness
- →Interface with senior engineering leadership on project deliverables and planning
- →Lead and inspire innovation across Harness’ portfolio of products and services
- →Propose POCs and optimizations regularly
- →Align goals of module sub-teams with overall goals of Harness Engineering
- →Gather escalations, remove blockers, and enable project teams
- →Represent projects to external customers, partners, or stakeholders
Requirements
- ✓14+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- ✓Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
- ✓Deep hands-on technical expertise in modern Software Delivery or building complex distributed systems
- ✓Demonstrable experience in advanced Java, Golang, or comparable programming languages
- ✓Depth of experience in distributed systems
- ✓Advanced Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience.
