About the Role
The Catering Operations Manager oversees all catering event deliveries and manages a team of managers and staff. This position serves as the central point for operations information and acts as a liaison between the Kitchen, Sales, and Events teams.
Key Responsibilities
- →Ensure high standards are met through implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures
- →Develop and execute catered indoor and outdoor events
- →Oversee physical plant operations, including maintenance and equipment management
- →Implement and manage Unit-specific sustainability goals
- →Manage financial viability through budget management and financial tasks
- →Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff
- →Manage and develop Event Managers, including performance reviews
- →Ensure compliance with employment practices and labor agreements
- →Hire and train new staff members
Requirements
- ✓Experience in catering operations and staff management
- ✓Knowledge of quality assurance policies and procedures
- ✓Ability to develop and execute events
- ✓Understanding of physical plant operations and maintenance
- ✓Financial management and budgeting skills
- ✓Strong leadership and communication abilities
- ✓Compliance with labor agreements and university policies
- ✓Staff training and development experience
