Software Engineer- Kafka/Azure at HMGroup

WHAT YOU’LL DO As Software Engineer you are responsible for the entire software life cycle – design, development, test, release, maintenance and translates business needs into working software. The role focuses on large-scale event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, and API-driven systems that integrate OMS platforms. WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH At H&M group, you will be part of the Order Management Team. We ensure stable, reliable and scalable fit for purpose platforms. Provide best-in-class engineering services that improves our speed to market, flexibility and scalability by providing frictionless technology with self-service capabilities and empowering product teams for delivery leveraging a foundational and standardized set of core platforms Key Responsibilities: • Responsible for the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) – including design, development, testing, release, and maintenance. • Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and efficient software solutions. • Develop high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code. • Perform unit testing and support integration and system testing activities. • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency. • Support deployment, release management, and production monitoring. • Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, and QAWHO YOU ARE We are looking for people with... • B. Tech/ B.E/ MS from a premier engineering college with 4+ years’ experience in Java Backend development and related technologies. • Strong experience in event-driven and distributed systems • Hands-on experience with Kafka (event streaming, connectors, event stores) • Cosmos DB / MongoDB (JSON-based data models) • RESTful API design and implementation • PaaS - Azure Function App, Azure Logic App • Azure Service Bus (messaging in Azure). • Experience with real-time data processing and high-throughput systems. • Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and cost optimization. • Experience with Azure cloud services. • Logging & monitoring using Application Insights, Splunk, or similar tools. • Ensure APIs remain consumer-agnostic (no translations, locale handling, or UI-specific logic). • Participate in HLD/LLD design, technical reviews, and architecture governance. • Knowledge of Web services, SOAP, JSON and XML Schema.WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE  At H&M, we are proud to be a vibrant and welcoming company.
