About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Commerce Foundations team at Hopper. This role involves architecting foundational patterns for our travel commerce engine, working as a technical leader within a cross-functional team to ensure our platform is world-class.

Key Responsibilities

→Architect the underlying patterns for booking flows, checkout journeys, and multi-tenant configurations
→Define the "North Star" for our Scala-based distributed systems
→Lead the evolution of our platform to support "configuration over customization"
→Conduct deep-dive design reviews and mentor senior engineers
→Drive decision-making through high-quality documentation and asynchronous communication
