About the Role
The Security Privacy team at HubSpot is seeking a Technical Lead to guide the development of tools that help manage and protect personally identifiable information (PII) across the platform. This hands-on leadership role involves both technical direction and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own the technical direction for privacy tooling and co-set product strategy
- →Lead delivery of complex projects in data privacy and protection domains
- →Take ownership of team’s on-call health, reliability, and code quality
- →Grow engineers through mentorship and build an inclusive team culture
- →Design distributed systems that scan codebase and infrastructure for PII
- →Own reliability and on-call for services including alerting and incident response
- →Collaborate with Privacy, Legal, and Security teams to implement technical solutions
- →Mentor engineers through design reviews and provide thoughtful feedback
- →Shape the roadmap for managing personal data at scale
Requirements
- ✓Experience leading small teams, projects, or technical areas
- ✓Comfort with designing and operating distributed systems in production
- ✓Strong experience with JVM languages (ideally Java) and relational databases
- ✓Experience with technologies like Kafka, asynchronous processing, or large-scale data systems
- ✓Commitment to reliability, observability, and operational excellence
