About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our Payments Engineering team at Imprint. This role involves building reliable, secure, and scalable systems that power all of our payment experiences, forming the financial backbone of our customer and partner interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- →Set and execute on the technical vision and roadmap for payments, balancing speed, scale, and compliance.
- →Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- →Plan and manage the execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery within the allocated budget.
- →Regularly communicate with senior management and other stakeholders to report on project status, risks, and opportunities.
- →Ensure adherence to high-quality coding and documentation standards.
- →Drive a culture of innovation within the team, promoting experimentation and learning.
Requirements
- ✓10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in engineering management with a hands-on backend development background.
- ✓Deep experience designing, building, and operating production-grade financial or payments systems.
- ✓Proven leadership in system architecture and design—covering reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- ✓Strong foundation in building financial platforms, ideally with close collaboration alongside operations, compliance, and risk functions.
- ✓Demonstrated success leading high-performing engineering teams, with a focus on platform engineering, integrations, or automation.
- ✓Solid understanding of agile methodologies and modern engineering best practices.
- ✓Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- ✓Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and a bias for action.
