About the Role
We are looking for a Health Data Scientist to join Inovalon, a healthcare technology company focused on data-driven solutions. This role involves leading complex data extracts, programming, and analytical modeling to support internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead collaborative efforts with health services researchers and business analysts to extract insights from large healthcare datasets
- →Develop solutions for strategic business problems using advanced modeling and statistical analysis
- →Perform advanced data extraction, transformation, and management using SQL
- →Test hypotheses and communicate findings clearly to clients
- →Respond to complex operational data requests and create ad-hoc queries
- →Work with various Inovalon teams to resolve data issues and improve data processes
- →Evaluate data analytic vendors and tools
- →Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies and HIPAA requirements
- →Troubleshoot production-related issues
- →Fulfill additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries with administrative claims data
- ✓Health Economics Outcomes Research experience
- ✓Strong SQL programming skills and experience with statistical tools like SAS, R, SPSS, Stata, or MatLab
- ✓Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills
- ✓Experience researching and resolving data issues with large, complex sources
- ✓Business analytical skills and understanding of design principles
- ✓Project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects
- ✓Knowledge of database management tools like Hadoop, Hive, or MapReduce
- ✓Excellent analytical and communication skills
- ✓Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- ✓Advanced knowledge of healthcare, health policy, and related issues
- ✓Strong customer service and project management abilities
- ✓Ability to troubleshoot and recommend solutions
- ✓Ability to translate complex information for various clients
- ✓Education
- ✓Master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, applied mathematics, econometrics, statistics, engineering, physics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
