About the Role

Inovalon is seeking a Staff Software Data Engineer to build and operate large-scale ingestion and transformation pipelines for our enterprise data platform. This role involves end-to-end delivery of batch and CDC pipelines into Snowflake, with a focus on operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

→Design, build, and support production ingestion pipelines (batch + incremental + CDC) using AWS services and orchestration frameworks.
→Design systems that operate reliably at scale, supporting high-volume ingestion and multi-tenant workloads.
→Build repeatable patterns for schema evolution, idempotency, deduplication, and late-arriving data handling.
→Implement Snowflake-side patterns: Snowpipe, Streams/Tasks, stored procedures, warehouse sizing, query tuning, and cost controls.
→Define and enforce data contracts and data quality gates.
→Drive operational excellence: dashboards, alerts, runbooks, incident analysis, and continuous improvements.
→Collaborate with platform engineers to standardize onboarding patterns and create reusable framework components.
→Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other policies.
→Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues.

Requirements

✓8–15 years in data engineering / data platform roles shipping production-grade pipelines.
✓Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Airflow, Snowflake, CDC, and AWS services.
✓Experience operating systems at scale with clear ownership, reliability mindset, and strong documentation.
✓Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
