What you'll be up to:
β’ Tech Vision and Platform Strategy: Own and articulate a sharp, opinionated vision for Insify's technology platform. You define where the architecture needs to go to support multiple products across multiple European markets, and you bring the whole organization along with you.
β’ Deep Architectural Leadership: Go hands-on with the architecture when it matters. Policy lifecycle rules, edge cases, underwriting logic, claims workflows, multi-market product variants: you understand them at depth and make the calls that protect the platform from accumulating drag as we scale.
β’ AI as a Core Philosophy, Not a Feature: Define Insify's engineering philosophy on AI. This goes well beyond "burning tokens." You lead to ensure AI becomes a driving factor in our customer-facing experience, in our claims handling, in how we process PDF correspondence, and in every internal workflow where it can create leverage, and you ship it.
β’ Culture and High-Bar Leadership: Maintain a relentlessly high bar across the engineering organisation. In our industry, 70% right is not good enough, and neither is being right but slow. You set the standard for quality and for lightning speed, lead from the front, and put in the hours shoulder-to-shoulder with the team. That is how we beat bigger and richer rivals, and it is the standard you inspire in every engineer, tech lead, and manager reporting into you.
β’ Managing Managers and Scaling the Org: Lead a multi-layered engineering organisation through managing engineering managers. You are comfortable operating at scale, and you know how to keep the team fast, focused, and coordinated even as headcount grows and complexity multiplies.
β’ Cross-Functional Partnership and Product Depth: Build bridges across functions: Insurance, Operations, Commercial, and Data. You make sure tech is a true force multiplier for the whole company, not a silo. We believe engineers can only be effective when they have a deep understanding of our products, and you lead by example on this front: you know the product cold, and you set the expectation that your team does too.
β’ Scaling Under Real Traffic: Harden the platform to absorb the growth we already have inbound and the expansion into new geographies and products that are coming. You anticipate where the platform will bend before it breaks.
Your profile:
β’ Senior engineering leadership experience in a high-growth, tech-driven environment, ideally in a regulated and operationally complex domain (insurance, fintech, healthtech, or similar).
β’ A step-up profile is welcome: if you are hungry, willing to work extraordinarily hard over the coming years, and determined to earn your standing as a top-tier tech leader, we want to hear from you.
β’ Deep architectural capabilities. You have personally designed and evolved platforms with real complexity: many edge cases, regulatory constraints, multi-market and multi-product variants.
β’ Track record of leading engineering organisations of comparable size and managing managers, not just individual contributors.
Strong affinity with AI, backed by a clear, articulated philosophy for how AI should be embedded across the product, the platform, and internal operations.
β’ A genuine team player whose ambition extends beyond the tech team. You see engineering as integrated into every aspect of the company, not a separate service or internal agency, and you behave accordingly.
β’ Grit and the ability to inspire it. You can hold the bar, deliver under pressure, and pull the organization up with you.
β’ Fluency in English is required.

β’ You are looking for a 40-hour week: We operate in a high-intensity, Champions League environment.
β’ You prefer to stay high-level: This role demands a leader who can hold the vision and dive into the architecture, the code, and the product. If you have drifted away from the technical detail, you will struggle here.
β’ You are tactically strong but architecturally light: Short-term firefighting isn't enough. We need someone who can hold a coherent, long-range architectural view and make decisions today that pay off in two and three years, whilst delivering value to the organisation in the here and now as well.
β’ AI is a buzzword for you: If your AI plan stops at "use more LLMs," you won't move the needle. We expect a sharp, considered view on where AI actually creates value, how engineers should make the most of it and the conviction to ship it.
