About the Role

The Marketing Enablement & Technology (MET) team at Instacart is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve the marketing analytics data foundation. This role involves designing high-quality, business-aware data models and providing technical leadership across marketing data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

→Design, build, and maintain high-quality dimensional data models and ELT pipelines for marketing analytics across Paid Marketing, SEO, and Retailer Marketing.
→Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Marketing stakeholders to understand analytical needs and deliver trusted data assets.
→Lead efforts in data modeling, metric definition, testing, and documentation, ensuring data quality across critical marketing workflows.
→Set standards and guide execution for marketing data pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, and analytical usability.
→Improve and evolve existing marketing data pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve performance.
→Develop scalable analytics engineering patterns to support evolving marketing measurement needs.

Requirements

✓5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or related roles.
✓Advanced SQL skills and experience designing dimensional data models.
✓Hands-on experience with dbt, Snowflake, and Airflow.
✓Strong understanding of marketing data and metrics, including paid media performance and attribution concepts.
✓Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership on complex data projects.
✓Excellent judgment and product thinking.
