About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Platform Identity team at Instructure. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining critical identity and access management solutions that support all of Instructure's products.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable identity and access management (IAM) services
- →Lead technical discussions, architectural reviews, and mentor junior engineers
- →Collaborate with product managers, security engineers, and other engineering teams
- →Implement and enforce best practices for security, data privacy, and compliance
- →Optimize existing identity solutions for performance, reliability, and maintainability
- →Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and infrastructure
- →Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in identity management and security
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- ✓5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on identity and access management
- ✓Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language
- ✓Experience with identity protocols and standards
- ✓Solid understanding of security principles, cryptography, and best practices
- ✓Experience designing and building highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems
- ✓Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases
- ✓Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies
- ✓Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
