About the Role

We are looking for a Principal Tech Lead to join our team at Lab49, an award-winning specialist consultancy creating bespoke technology for finance companies. This critical leadership role will involve leading a team of engineers to build modern digital products for buy-side research analysts and portfolio managers.

Key Responsibilities

→Partner with clients to lead the design and build of a structured products trading UI using modern web development technology
→Design, document, and plan for the technical implementation and delivery of working software into production
→Act as a hands-on engineer and architect to support ongoing project work
→Partner with client counterparts and stakeholders to maintain and build relationships
→Contribute to the Interactive Practice within Lab49
→Assist in developing effective management skills among line managers in the Engineering practice

Requirements

✓10+ years of hands-on experience designing and building complex software applications
✓5+ years leading Agile teams
✓Primary engineering skillset focused on delivering UIs for digital products
✓Proven track record in effective leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making
✓Experience designing technical solutions, managing integrations with third-party services, and deploying applications
✓Experience managing project teams and interacting with clients in finance or consulting environments
✓Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks like React
✓Experience with cloud platforms and SDLC practices
✓Strong understanding of testing, quality, continuous integration, source control, and code reviews
