Job ID: 1524
The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Director, Product Management β QSafe Trust Platform to join our Quantum Network & Security Solutions (QNSS) division. As a Senior Director, you'll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world's best quantum computers to solve the world's most complex problems.
In this role, you will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for IonQ's QSafe Trust software platform β the company's network security posture assessment solution that provides holistic, vendor-agnostic security visibility from the physical network layer through MACSec, IPSec, and TLS. You will drive the platform from its current early stage through general availability, working at the intersection of quantum-safe cryptography, network security, and AI-driven analytics.
The ideal candidate is a strategic product leader who combines deep expertise in enterprise network security with the ability to build and ship complex, multi-tenant SaaS platforms in emerging technology markets.
Responsibilities:
β’ Define and own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the QSafe Trust platform, encompassing the QTrust, QResist, and QSecure product lines β from network security posture assessment through remediation.
β’ Drive product definition for the QTrust AI-driven "mission control" experience, including intent-based analytics, ontology-based anomaly detection, and continuous network health monitoring and scoring.
β’ Lead discovery and prioritization across the four foundational trust pillars β Harden Trust (device configuration assurance), Integrity Trust (hardware/software attestation per IETF RFC 9334 RATS), Centralized Trust (aggregated telemetry and observability), and Test Trust (penetration testing and exploit identification).
β’ Define the platform's data collection architecture strategy, ensuring flexibility across cloud-native, on-prem collector, and hybrid deployment models to meet diverse enterprise and carrier-grade requirements.
β’ Partner closely with engineering, quantum networking research, and security architecture teams to translate quantum-safe cryptographic capabilities (PQC, QKD, Q-KMS) into commercially viable product features.
β’ Own the multi-vendor integration strategy, defining APIs and data ingestion frameworks (Syslog, SNMP, OTEL, NETCONF, RESTCONF) that enable vendor-agnostic network security posture assessment at scale.
β’ Engage directly with enterprise customers, government agencies, and carrier/service provider prospects to validate product-market fit, gather requirements, and shape go-to-market positioning.
β’ Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product management team as the QNSS product organization scales.
β’ Collaborate with sales engineering and business development to support strategic deals, RFP responses, and customer proof-of-concept deployments.
β’ Establish and track product KPIs including adoption, customer health scores, time-to-value, and platform reliability metrics.
Requirements:
β’ 12+ years of professional experience in product management with at least 5 years in senior/director-level roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
β’ Proven track record of building and shipping enterprise network security or cybersecurity SaaS platforms (e.g., network monitoring, SIEM, vulnerability management, or security posture management).
β’ Deep understanding of network security protocols and infrastructure across L1βL3, including familiarity with MACSec, IPSec, TLS, and related encryption standards.
β’ Experience defining products that integrate with multi-vendor network environments using standard telemetry and management protocols (SNMP, NETCONF, RESTCONF, OpenTelemetry, Syslog).
β’ Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, technically complex, and ambiguous environment.
β’ Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present product strategy to C-level stakeholders, customers, and board-level audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ Experience with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards, quantum key distribution (QKD), or quantum-safe migration planning.
β’ Background in building AI/ML-driven analytics or observability platforms, particularly involving ontology-based reasoning or intent-based networking.
β’ Experience in telecom, critical infrastructure, or defense/government network security markets.
β’ Familiarity with IETF standards related to remote attestation (RFC 9334 RATS) or network security automation.
β’ Prior experience at a public company or in a high-growth environment navigating the transition from early product to scaled commercial offering.
β’ CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security certifications.
