About the Role
Jerry.ai is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Core Marketplace Automation Team, building automation systems that enhance user self-service capabilities, maintain insurance coverage, and provide seamless experiences. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on software that directly impacts millions of users and shapes the future of insurance technology.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build automation systems for complex insurance servicing tasks including policy endorsements, cancellations, document uploads, and reinstatements
- →Implement fast sprint cycles to ship new automations in 1–2 weeks
- →Compose backend business logic that drives automation while adhering to insurance carrier rules
- →Design backend pipelines for customer policy data synchronization, timely alerts, and seamless re-shopping experiences
- →Optimize and scale internal tools to minimize agent intervention
- →Collaborate with product, data, and engineering ops teams to improve customer retention
- →Work asynchronously across time zones with strong collaboration through Asana and Slack
- →Continuously improve backend systems, APIs, and microservice architecture
Requirements
- ✓At least 2 years of full stack engineering experience building production-grade software
- ✓Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and systems design
- ✓Experience with large-scale distributed systems for fast-growing consumer-facing software
- ✓Problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle ambiguous problems and iterate quickly
- ✓Ownership mindset with responsibility for end-to-end outcomes
- ✓Excellent communication skills and ability to work asynchronously across teams and time zones
- ✓Curiosity and adaptability to learn and explore new technologies
